Muscat Wines of Moldova
Moldova has a long history of wine making dating back to prehistoric times. In the mid 1800s new varieties were introduced to the vineyards including Muscat Blanc a Petits Grains. The current Moldovan government has established a Wine and Vine registry for the country. To date (January 2020) nine varieties of Muscat grape have been identified, some of which are wine grapes, some table grapes and some both wine and table grapes.

Milestii Mici Winery
Mileștii Mici (State Enterprise Quality Wines Industrial Complex) is the home of the largest wine cellar in the world. It stretches for 200 km and holds almost 2 million bottles of wine.
Elite wines from the “Golden Collection”at the Milestii Mici winery, are rarities of Moldavian wine making. They have dual maturation: from half a year to several years. The wines are matured in oak barrels, and then the wines are bottled and stored in the “Golden Collection” not less than 3 years. The time of their storage into the collection is dating from 1969. Each bottle is bottled with natural cork and covered with sealing wax. The unique design, stylized under the ancient map of the “underground wine city”, the inventory number and the annotation testify about the quality and about the age of the wine.
